the BRASS PROJECT
Repertoire
The Brass Project has two core areas of repertoire:
Contemporary
Since its founding, The Brass Project has commissioned over 35 new works by both established and early career composers. This substantial body of new music, which ranges in style from minimalist to neo romantic, reflects the diverse landscape of music in the 21st century. The Brass Project persistently commissions new works for brass and is proud to regularly perform world premieres.
Historical
The Brass Project pays homage to the historical roots of brass chamber music by performing its own unique editions of baroque and renaissance works. From the reverberant cathedrals in Europe to the modern day concert hall, the music of Bach, Gabrieli, and their contemporaries still resonates with audiences around the world.
